Why I Am Leaving Medium for SubStack: Censorship and Money

Open Letter to my Medium Subscribers

I am going to be migrating all of my Medium work to Substack and I hope my 261 Medium subscribers will join me there. There are several reasons for this change, the main one being censorship, the second one is rent.

Medium has pulled two of the four parts of my long form series Conservatives Are the New Cool Counterculture: My Year on the Right. Here are the notices I received, there was no appeal. I wrote back and there has not been a reply.

I did not break these rules. I do not promote violence, in fact, my series explicitly speaks against political violence and supports nonviolent protest. I do not hate. Period.

I am not using science or pseudoscience to pathologize, dehumanize or disempower others. If that is the standard, there is plenty of that to be found on Medium, but not in my work.

In one piece that was suspended I clearly speak against neo racial segregation that finds cover in “affinity groups.” I do not glorify the people that believe in segregation, I condemn them.
