The left tolerates harm and asks us to accept that which should not be accepted when it comes to homeless response, crime and law enforcement. In their eagerness to identify with the oppressed and downtrodden they have taken up the cause of criminals, including those who steal to feed addictions that are killing them.

It is reasonable to agree that policing and incarceration can be improved but it is pure magical thinking and denial of human nature to remove consequences from the equation when it comes to reform.

We can all agree nobody should go to jail for not having a home, but there needs to be boundaries around behaviors that harm others. “Legalizing survival” is a form of emotional manipulation whereby people are socialized to put the needs of a pathological minority above the needs of their family and community.

When the homeless violate you, squat on your property, leave hoarder levels of garbage, verbally harass you or steal your property, the proper progressive response is to have absolute grace for your victimizer. Should you complain you are…
